T-5: New Projects

Today marked the first day in a very long time that my to-do list didn’t begin with the Thai nationalism paper. It’s possible I could be asked to take another look at the material at some point, but I’m enjoying being done with it for now and getting to read other things.

In typical fashion, I’ve started two new projects instead of one. The first is a ~90 page document that I’m not editing. It’s a book, and I’m doing a beta-read. I’ve already glanced at the first few pages, and it’s going to be dry. Not because the topic isn’t interesting, but because the sentence structure is nigh identical. Thankfully, I don’t need to change that, just comment on the content. It’s also a fixed price job, which means I can work on it on the road if I decide I want to without having to worry about timing it.

The second project is significantly more within my wheelhouse: it’s a combined neuroscience and psychology book about changing our behavior to improve our cognition and mental health. I’m not sure I agree with everything the writer suggests doing, but I do approve of his goal to improve our mental health, especially now.
