T-9: Introvert Rebellion
When the pandemic started, everyone was understandably scared. Then lockdowns and mask-wearing mandates occurred, and it felt like everyone in Alabama (where we were at the time) started protesting about infringement of personal freedoms. The extroverts in particular seemed to take the increased isolation poorly.
Memes started appearing, including this one from one of my favorite comic strips:

It was true – introverts I spoke to were relived to have an excuse to not go to parties or meet up for coffee. Introverts were enjoying being able to stay at home except for groceries and medical appointments. It made their lives simpler and easier, for the most part.
However, as we near March, it’s now been almost a year since COVID-19 restrictions first hit the US. Even the most extreme introverts I know are tired of not seeing their family and friends, which is saying a lot.
I’m curious how long the line will even partially hold now that everyone is tiring of being good and following pandemic restrictions.
