Day 5: Tired Monkeys

Sara and I agreed that we weren’t going to set an alarm to start the day, because it took Becca nearly 2 hours of intermittent crying to fall asleep. It meant we had a later start, but since we only had an eight hour drive to Sara’s Aunt’s house in Lake Havasu and no deadline for arrival, we thought the sleep was worth it.

Weather-wise, the drive was uneventful, which was a nice change. Sara and I took advantage of that, and our experience from the prior days to plan three stops along the way. We must be getting good at it, because Becca started getting fussy right on schedule every time.

We took the opportunity to also have a good hour-long conversation about what I wanted to do about life. For the first time, it didn’t feel rushed because we had nothing else to do for hours, unlike all the other times we’ve talked about it.

We arrived in Lake Havasu around 6:30 PM EST, and dinner wasn’t until almost 8:30PM EST. I crashed really hard right after that, so I apologize if any of you were worried about the fact that you hadn’t heard from me.

(Without proofreading, still.)
