T-17: COVID-19 Exposure?
Today started off much like I anticipated it would: I awoke around 7 and started installing things on Grandma’s computer to make it functional. I ate breakfast, made a pot of tea, started work… for the first half of the day it was pretty much the same routine as being at home except that there were cats chasing each other around the house. 😉
However, in the middle of the afternoon my host got a call from her workplace asking if she could pick up some extra shifts. Further probing revealed that one of her coworkers has COVID-19. Much hubbub ensued, but at end of the day, it was agreed that my host would stay home from work for the next two weeks. This would not only allow her to quarantine, but also prevent further exposure from her workplace.
Thankfully, much like me, my host also sells items online. This is good because rather than being unemployed for two weeks, she’ll have time to work on her two different online businesses. However, this whole business has stressed her out incredibly, so ended up cooking dinner. (Vegetarian tacos!)
After dinner it was role playing John Watson while attempting to solve the Mystery of the Red Fez. We haven’t really accomplished anything yet except to figure out that we need to take a train to Constantinople… but more on that on Monday, when we hopefully make it out of England. 😉
