To New Beginnings

I have written several personal blogs. I began my first in university as a way to simply explore a new medium of expression, while giving my family and friends some insights into my world. Full of random posts, it was fun and totally disorganized.

Subsequently, I went on several overseas trips and spun up new blogs for each of them. Posting daily, I was significantly more disciplined in telling my loved ones what was going on in my world. Yet, when the trips ended, so did the blogs. The process continued, with two more blogs, one dedicated to my time in medical school and another, sad and lonely, during my year in residency.

Up until now, each blog I created was designed with an expiry date. I never intended to continue them past the period of my life they were recording. However, this one is different. I’m co-authoring it with my husband, with no intended end in sight. I expect it to evolve as we do, and who knows what that means?

For the time being, we’re starting out small. Our goal is twofold:

  1. To create a joint list of prayers and praises and keep it updated, at least once a month.
  2. To both write individual updates throughout the month about our lives and what we’re thinking about.

The purpose is not to create another to-do, but to communicate. I hope you, our friends and family, enjoy reading it as much as I hope it will be good for us to write it.
